Ed
Krasnow is a Graduate of Massasoit Community College. He started as a
transfer student in January of 1985 and finished in 1986. During that
time he was heavily involved with the Massasoit TV Studio. After
working in the Hotel Management field for two years Ed went to Emerson
College and graduated the Mass Communications program with a
concentration in television with a Bachelors of Science. Ed returned to
Massasoit to work in the TV studio in a grant funded position as
Program Coordinator for the Cable channel under Dr Tim Trask.
This job allowed him to work closely with Massasoit Students, Faculty,
and Staff and grow his professional and teaching experience. After five
and a half years at Massasoit Ed went on to work for a Cambridge based
reseller of Digital Video equipment and became an expert in Digital
Video editing and technology. Ed was hired first by FAST Electronic and
then by Pinnacle Systems, two leading manufacturers of digital video
technology, and has held a range of jobs within those companies from
Regional Sales Manager to Senior Product Specialist. The exciting part
of that work was the opportunity to meet many industry leaders and
experienced Broadcast TV production movers and shakers and educate them
on technology changes in digital TV and High Definition. Ed designed
educational and training seminars and continues to present at
conferences on changes in digital technology and what those changes
mean to the future of not only television, but video and audio in our
daily lives. During his corporate career Ed continued to teach courses
at Massasoit including Speech, Introduction to Mass Communication,
Advanced TV Production, and Digital Non-Linear Editing. After about 10
years of traveling he was excited to return to his home at Massasoit
and is currently the Director of TV and Radio at the School.
